Mall Varna opens doors on June 12

Lewis Charles Sofia Property Fund announced it would receive 1.89 million euro in gross proceeds from the sale of part of its project in Sofia, Thomson Financial said. Lewis Charles sold 10.3 per cent of the total build area of its project to an unnamed insurance fund, based in Athens, according to investor.bg.Gross revenue from this disposal, the first made by the fund, would be 10.49 million euro, including development costs and profit share, Thomson Financial quoted the company as saying.

Equest divests of former Serdika Hotel

Days after real estate investment trust Equest Balkan Properties announced that it would sell some of its assets in Bulgaria and other neighbouring countries, it announced that it had sold the former Hotel Serdika to Uniqa Real Estate, the real estate subsidiary of Austrian insurer Uniqa, Dnevnik daily reported on May 15.Equest managing partner Georgi Kroumov confirmed the news but declined to specify the value of the transaction until the deal was finalised.

ABB to build 20M plant in Plovdiv

Bulgarias first hotel chain Grifid Hotels has announced plans to add at least two other hotels to its existing two, owner Grigor Fidanov said, as quoted by Dnevnik daily on May 9.Currently, the chain comprises Arabela and Bolero fourstar hotels with combined capacity of 1190 beds. Both are in the Golden Sands resort, on Bulgarias northern Black Sea coastline. The company has been in talks to purchase another hotel in the vicinity to create a hotel complex.
