Russia has cut off gas supplies to Ukraine because of irreconcilable contract issues, Reuters reported, cited by Bulgarianlanguage newspaper Dnevnik daily on January 1 2009.A spokesperson for the supplier, Gazprom, said, as quoted by Reuters, that the company would proceed to service its European customers as usual.
