Turkey begins 2009 the new year with new currency
Starting January 1 2009, Turkey launched a new currency by dropping the new from Turkish lira and began to circulate new notes and coins, DPA, the German news agency wrote, cited by Bulgarian news agency BTA.The new notes are smaller and six zeros at the end of a given monetary units face value have been done away with.
